Forecasters said dangerous heat will return to the Mid-South beginning Sunday and last at least through Tuesday. An Extreme Heat Warning and a Heat Advisory will be in effect from Sunday at 11 a.m. to Tuesday at 8 p.m., forecasters said.
Forecasters said conditions on the day before the heat arrives will be soggy and humid. The return of the heat is expected to follow that period of damp weather.
Forecasters urged residents to take preparedness steps now as the warnings approach. They emphasized the need to monitor local forecasts and advisories.
