Officials said today is the final day for residents affected by the Jan. 23-27 winter storms to apply for federal assistance.
Officials said applications can be submitted online, by phone, through the FEMA app or by visiting one of the Disaster Service Centers located in Alcorn, Lafayette, Panola, Leflore, Benton, Yazoo, Carroll, Coahoma, Montgomery, Tallahatchie, Pontotoc, Marshall and Tishomingo counties.
Officials said receiving these benefits will not affect anyone’s Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits.
Officials urged eligible residents to apply before the deadline.
