Disaster Service Centers in Franklin, Lawrence, and Lincoln counties are set to close this Friday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m., according to officials. The center in Wilkinson County will remain open, with operating hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The centers are closed on Sundays.
Residents seeking disaster assistance do not need to visit a center. They can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), officials said.
The closures come as part of a shift in disaster response resources, officials noted, and assistance remains available through digital and phone channels for those affected.
