Forecasters say early summerlike heat will move into the Mid-South this weekend, with highs 5 to 10 degrees above normal and a few locations possibly reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit by Monday.
The warmer conditions are expected across parts of Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee, forecasters said.
Weather officials urged residents to check air-conditioning systems and to stay hydrated as temperatures rise.
Forecasters said the weekend stretch offers a good opportunity for preparation ahead of the warmer conditions.
