Four charged after Tupelo armed robbery, police say
Tupelo police said four people were charged after a victim reported an armed robbery May 28 on Bryson Drive in Tupelo.
Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description later that day and identified the suspects, the department said. The suspects were identified as Kayla Turner, 25, of Tupelo; Demario Harris, 19, of Tupelo; Deon Shumpert, 22, of Tupelo; and Keryauna Wheatley, 19, of Booneville.
On May 29, Wheatley was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and made an initial appearance in Tupelo Municipal Court, the department said. Judge Harry Sumner set bond at $50,000, according to the department.
The charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, Tupelo police said.
