May 1 marks National Heatstroke Prevention Day, a reminder that a parked car can become dangerous quickly, a social media post using the hashtag #MDOTcares said.

The post urged motorists to remember the phrase “Stop. Look. Lock.” to help keep children safe as warmer weather approaches, it said.

The message included the hashtags #HeatstrokeKills, #ChildSafety and #StopLookLock, the post said.
