The Mississippi Department of Transportation said crews this summer made progress on road and bridge projects across District 2 in northwest Mississippi.

MDOT said the work included fresh pavement overlays and the construction of numerous new bridges. The agency said crews worked throughout the season to complete the projects.

MDOT said District 2 covers Attala, Benton, Calhoun, Carroll, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Montgomery, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica and Yalobusha counties.

MDOT said a press release with detailed project information was linked in the comments of its social media post and that the update covers only projects in District 2.
