The Mississippi Department of Transportation thanked its employees on Labor Day and urged motorists to buckle up, stay alert and make safe choices, MDOT said in a social media post.
MDOT praised the men and women who build, maintain and improve the state’s roads and bridges, saying they work “from the field to the office” and make a significant daily contribution to keeping Mississippi moving.
The department wrote, “Your work matters, and we appreciate you,” and encouraged the public to enjoy the long weekend while practicing safe driving habits.
The post included hashtags such as #MShwys, #LaborDay, #MDOTfamily, #WorkingForYou and #DriveSmartMS, MDOT said.
