The Mississippi Department of Transportation thanked mothers and urged people not to litter in a Mother’s Day social media post, the agency said.
The department wrote, “To all the MDOT moms who keep Mississippi moving and to every mom out there — thank you. You really are the best,” and added, “And yes… we know your mama raised you better than to litter. Don’t make us tell her,” the post said.
The message included the hashtags #MothersDay and #DontTrashMS, the department said. It specifically acknowledged MDOT employees who are mothers for their work keeping the state’s transportation system running.
The department posted the message on its social media channels, the agency said.
