MDOT warns drivers to avoid flooded roads in southern, central Mississippi
The Mississippi Department of Transportation warned drivers on June 19 that more rain in the forecast could produce hazardous travel in parts of southern and central Mississippi.
MDOT said flash flooding was still being reported on several roadways in south Mississippi as of 1 p.m. on June 19. The agency listed the following locations with flood conditions: N. Beech St. at MS 43 in Pearl River County; MS 603 at Texas Flat Rd. in Hancock County; MS 26 at MS 15 and MS 15 between Spring Lake Rd. and Cutoff Rd. in Stone County; and MS 26 at MS 57 and MS 57 at Jim Jam Rd. in George County.
MDOT urged motorists to avoid flooded roadways and to use extreme caution when traveling during severe weather conditions.
