Mississippi DOT warns drivers to avoid flooded roadways during Tropical Storm Arthur
The Mississippi Department of Transportation on Wednesday warned drivers to avoid flooded roadways as Tropical Storm Arthur impacts the Gulf Coast with heavy rainfall, gusty winds and flash-flood conditions, MDOT said.
MDOT said widespread flooding and debris have been reported in Pearl River County and that conditions are changing rapidly.
The agency urged motorists to check the free MDOT Traffic app or MDOTtraffic.com for the latest information on road conditions before driving, saying it is constantly updating the services.
MDOT told residents to stay weather-aware and to avoid driving through flooded areas until conditions improve.
