Person dies after shooting at Tupelo gas station; suspect arrested
On July 17, 2026, at approximately 9:09 p.m., Tupelo police officers and detectives responded to North Mississippi Medical Center for a gunshot victim with life-threatening injuries, Tupelo police said.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at 1930 Briar Ridge Road in Tupelo, police said.
The victim later died from the injuries, and investigators identified a suspect who was taken into custody, Tupelo police said.
The case remains an active homicide investigation. Tupelo police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
