Mississippi agency urges residents not to ignore official notices

The Mississippi Department of Human Services said in a social media post that residents should not discard notices received by mail, text or email.

The agency said people often toss messages thinking they are unimportant. “We’ve all done it,” the post said, according to the department.

The department reminded recipients to respond to notices when required and said some messages may contain important information or deadlines.

The post said it would highlight examples of items people should not ignore and urged recipients to check communications from the agency, the department said.
