Mississippi agency warns tornadoes possible as Arthur remnants move across state
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said severe storms, including tornadoes, are possible as the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur move across the state.
The agency urged residents to identify a safe place and to have a family plan if a tornado warning is issued, the agency said.
The agency said it is also important to know which National Weather Service office covers each area. Mississippi is served by four offices: the National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi; Mobile, Alabama; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Memphis, Tennessee.
The agency advised residents to find their county on a map so they can determine which office covers their area, the agency said.
