Mississippi DOT Urges Helmets, Training as Riding Season Begins
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said motorists and motorcyclists should prepare for summer riding as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month ends.
The department urged that all drivers be properly trained and licensed. It said all riders should wear a DOT-compliant helmet to protect the head.
MDOT also advised that passengers be properly prepared and follow safety guidance when riding, the agency said.
The department recommended the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s website, msf-usa.org, for online training and in-person classes, the agency said.
