The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) warned that portions of the state could experience severe weather through the evening of May 6, the agency said.
MDOT urged drivers in affected areas to use extra caution, saying road conditions could change quickly.
The agency advised motorists to check live road conditions using the MDOT Traffic app for iOS and Android or by visiting MDOTtraffic.com.
MDOT posted an updated outlook for the day’s severe weather threat at 8:14 a.m. CDT, the agency said.
