Tupelo man arrested on possession charge after traffic stop, police say
Christopher Jones Sr., 61, of Tupelo was arrested May 6 and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance after officers said they found suspected crack cocaine during a March 30 traffic stop, the Tupelo Police Department said.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle on Auburn Road near Interstate 22 for multiple traffic violations. Jones was identified as a passenger in the vehicle, the department said.
The department said officers obtained consent to search Jones’ person and found what it described as a felony amount of alleged crack cocaine. He was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, police said.
