Mississippi names highway for UMMC flight paramedic killed in helicopter crash
Family and friends of Jakob Kindt gathered as a stretch of Mississippi Highway 363 was designated the “Jakob Edward Kindt Memorial Highway,” the Mississippi Department of Transportation said. Kindt was killed in the AirCare 3 helicopter crash on June 26, 2025, the department said.
The department said the designated segment begins at the intersection with Centerville Road and extends north to the intersection with Hall Road in Itawamba County.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said Kindt worked for the University of Mississippi Medical Center AirCare 3 based in Columbus as a critical care flight paramedic.
MDOT described Kindt as “very self-driven and strong both physically and emotionally” and said he was an encourager and provider to his family, his church family and his profession.
