An Extreme Heat Watch has been converted to an areawide Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. Friday, the advisory said.
Forecasters said uncertainties about potential storms late in the week make it unlikely they will reach heat index values of 110 or higher across the region.
The advisory urged residents to ‘stay cool, Mid-South!,’ the statement said.
