National Weather Service issues enhanced severe-weather risk for northern Mississippi

The National Weather Service has issued an enhanced risk for severe weather for northern Mississippi beginning April 27 and lasting through the evening, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said.

The agency said another round of severe weather is expected April 28 into the morning of April 29.

Mississippi could see severe storms, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, hail and tornadoes, the agency said.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency advised residents to have multiple ways to receive alerts, know their safe place and continue to follow local meteorologists for the latest forecast updates.
