Both directions of Norman Road at U.S. 80 in Newton County will be closed starting Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Mississippi Department of Transportation said in a news release.
The closure will remain in place through 2027, MDOT said. It is part of a project to replace several bridges on U.S. 80 in Newton and Lauderdale counties.
Traffic control and detour signage will be in place, MDOT said. The agency urged drivers to slow down and be on alert for posted signs and road crews for the duration of the project.
