Northeast Mississippi Community College MI-BEST Program Has 8 Openings for Fall 2026

Northeast Mississippi Community College said its MI-BEST program has eight openings for fall 2026 to help eligible students earn a High School Equivalency while enrolling in career training pathways.

The college said the program allows participants to work toward an HSE and complete career training at the same time. Eligible students may qualify for assistance with tuition, books, supplies and other supportive services, the college said.

According to the college, eligibility includes being a single parent, custodial or noncustodial; needing to earn an HSE; or holding a Bronze-level WorkKeys certificate or higher.

The MI-BEST program offers training in certified nursing assistant (CNA); emergency medical technician (EMT); industrial maintenance; medical administrative medical assistant (CMAA); welding; and phlebotomy, the college said.

For more information or to see if they qualify, prospective students should contact Amanda Janes at adjanes@nemcc.edu, the college said.
