The National Weather Service in Memphis warned in a social media post that hazardous heat is expected through the weekend.
The agency said heat index values will reach 100 to 109 degrees.
The National Weather Service urged people to limit time outdoors, drink plenty of water and stay cool to avoid heat-related illness.
The post included hashtags for Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee weather. The agency shared the advisory on its social media channels, the post said.
