NWS Memphis Warns of More Oppressive Heat, Urges Safety Measures

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee warned in a social media post that oppressive heat will return tomorrow and urged residents to follow heat-safety precautions.

The agency advised limiting time outdoors, taking frequent breaks in air conditioning, staying hydrated and to “LOOK before you LOCK,” according to the post.

The weather service said the region is several days into a dangerous heat wave and stressed the importance of heat safety.

In the post, the service asked residents to be cautious and safe in the Mid-South, the agency said.
