The National Weather Service in Memphis said in a social media post that residents could face another day of oppressive heat tomorrow, with many areas remaining under an Extreme Heat Warning and heat indices of 110 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
The agency urged residents to limit outdoor activity and to check in on loved ones, according to the post.
The NWS also advised people to take frequent breaks in air-conditioned spaces and to stay hydrated, the post said.
The warning and guidance were posted by the National Weather Service in Memphis on its official social media account.
