Public notice warns oppressive heat remains this week, urges hydration

Oppressive heat remains a threat this week, a public notice said. It urged residents to stay hydrated and to seek shade or air conditioning.

The notice advised people to drink plenty of water even if they do not feel thirsty. It recommended taking regular breaks in shaded areas or cooled indoor spaces.

The notice also urged checks on elderly neighbors and on pets, saying those groups are vulnerable to heat illness.
