Summer-like heat will persist across the Mid-South through Friday, with highs near 90 degrees in many areas, weather forecasters said.

Forecasters said those temperatures are more typical of mid-June and will affect multiple communities across the region on Friday.

A cold front is expected to move through Saturday, bringing much cooler and less humid air by Sunday, forecasters said.
