Tropical funnel clouds possible in northeast Arkansas, Missouri Bootheel

Brief tropical funnel clouds are possible across northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel this afternoon, forecasters said.

Forecasters said such funnels typically do not reach the surface and are not usually hazardous.

However, they warned that if the funnels touch down they could produce wind gusts of about 50 mph.
