Officials said the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s Interdiction Unit conducted the inspection on Sunday, May 17, resulting in the seizure of approximately 376 pounds of methamphetamine, 82 pounds of marijuana, and 2 kilograms of powder cocaine.

Authorities identified the driver as 32-year-old Ramar A. Lloyd of McDonough, Georgia. Lloyd was arrested and transported to the Pontotoc County Detention Center.

He has been charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance and one count of trafficking of a controlled substance.

“This significant seizure is a direct result of the proactive work being done every day by our law enforcement officers,” Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell said in a statement.

Tindell added that law enforcement agencies across Mississippi remain committed to targeting drug trafficking operations and removing dangerous narcotics from the state’s highways.
