Vicksburg police are investigating after a 19-year-old woman was stabbed in the chest, according to authorities.
Officers responded to a report at Merit Health River Region around 7:30 p.m. on August 1. Emergency personnel treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to the hospital.
Investigators said the woman suffered a small puncture to one of her lungs. Police described her injuries as not life-threatening.
Authorities have not released details about the suspect or the motive for the stabbing, and the investigation remains ongoing.
