Liberty rally to beat Fever after second-half collapse
The New York Liberty rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to beat the Indiana Fever 83-75 Saturday night, according to game officials.
The Liberty, without star Sabrina Ionescu due to injury, capitalized on turnovers by Indiana in the fourth quarter to secure the win. The Fever led early in the second half but struggled to maintain their advantage as New York mounted a comeback.
Caitlin Clark, the Fever’s standout, had one of her worst shooting nights, making just four of 14 shots and committing three turnovers. She narrowly missed matching her career-worst shooting performance of 3-for-14 set last season against Golden State.
Indiana’s other key players, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, combined for eight turnovers and shot just 36.1% from the field. The Fever, once considered championship contenders, have lost four of their past six games, prompting increased scrutiny of head coach Stephanie White.
The Fever’s next game is on the road against the Washington Mystics, as they attempt to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference standings.
