Spencer Pratt says he doesn’t seek celebrity endorsements in LA mayoral race

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt said Thursday he does not want celebrity endorsements. During an appearance on “Gutfeld!” Pratt stated he prefers support from moms and animal lovers in the city.

Pratt added he enjoys when celebrities attack him, believing it indicates he’s doing well. His campaign has raised millions of dollars, surpassing those of incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and challenger Nithya Raman, according to sources.

Pratt claimed that Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx have privately endorsed him, although those endorsements have not been publicly confirmed. Other celebrities such as Dennis Quaid, Paris Hilton, and Jeanie Buss have publicly supported him.

Despite his claims, Pratt said celebrity endorsements are not his main focus. He highlighted his grassroots support, saying his backing comes from everyday Los Angeles residents, including those dealing with homelessness and drug issues.

Polling shows Bass with 26% of likely voters, Raman with 25%, and Pratt with 22%, according to a UC Berkeley-Los Angeles Times survey. Pratt, who identifies as a Republican, has gained attention for viral ads targeting his opponents and criticizes city officials’ handling of fires and homelessness.

He launched his campaign in January, aiming to unseat Bass, citing her leadership failures. Pratt has also criticized her response to recent wildfires and the city’s homelessness crisis, advocating for treatment-focused solutions to drug addiction. The LA mayoral primary is set for June 2.
