Trump says he hopes next round of stimulus checks are higher than $1200

During a west Texas visit, President Trump hinted that the next round of stimulus checks may be higher than $1200.

Trump flew into Midland International Air and Space Port Wednesday morning for a fundraiser and to visit an oil rig. There he spoke to a crowd of energy executives and workers.

When asked if a $1200 direct payment to Americans was enough, Trump said, “We’re going to see it may go higher than that, actually.”

“I’d like to see it be very high because I love the people, I want the people to get it, you know, the economy is going to come back,” Trump stated. “We saved millions of lives but now we’re bringing (the economy) back … we gotta take care of the people in the meantime.”

The next round of stimulus checks are set to begin going out in August, but there are still many questions left unanswered.
