Wyoming councilman draws backlash after ‘hang bad judges’ comment on abortion ruling

Troy Bray, a Powell city councilman, faced backlash after commenting on Facebook that Wyoming would have to “hang bad judges” in response to a Natrona County judge temporarily blocking the state’s six-week abortion ban, a post shared by state Rep. Mike Yin, a Democrat, from Wyoming Public Radio & Media about the ruling allowing abortions to resume while the law faces legal challenges.

Bray’s comment drew criticism from other Facebook users, some of whom called the remark dangerous and inappropriate for an elected official. Bray later addressed the backlash in a lengthy Facebook post, saying the remark was “a statement of my beliefs, NOT a threat” and was not intended as a call for others to act.

In the follow-up post, Bray wrote that he is working to address what he described as systemic problems “by any means necessary,” a phrase that drew additional scrutiny. He added that he intends to pursue peaceful solutions and wrote, “I will exhaust every peaceful means I can find.”

Bray also criticized Wyoming’s judicial system in the post, calling it “broken” and saying judges often overstep their authority and that courts are the “last place you will ever find justice.” He argued the legal system is often inaccessible to ordinary people and accused lawyers of filing frivolous suits to financially drain opponents, saying people who cannot pay are denied justice.

The comment came as legal battles over Wyoming’s abortion laws continue and as several local officials have weighed in publicly. Fox News Digital reached out to Bray for additional comment and did not immediately receive a response.
