State Auditor Shad White says Mississippi had not reported Medicaid payments for undocumented immigrants before 2025; the state’s Medicaid division identified roughly $10.5 million in such spending from 2023 through 2025.

The National Weather Service says much of Mississippi faces a risk of flash flooding from Monday, June 15, through Tuesday night, June 16, 2026. Residents are urged to stay weather aware and avoid flooded roads.

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said slightly cooler temperatures and minimal rain chances are expected through Tuesday, with heat, humidity and increased rain chances returning late in the week.

All southbound lanes of I-59 reopened after an early-morning crash, but the Mississippi Department of Transportation says flooding remains on U.S. 90 at Porter Avenue in Harrison County.

The Starkville Driver Service Bureau said it is closed this week while it relocates. The office will reopen Monday, June 22, at 8 a.m., the bureau said.
