McGee sentenced to 12 years for trafficking fentanyl

Tupelo, Miss. — Jeremy McGee pleaded guilty Aug. 3, 2026, to trafficking fentanyl and was sentenced to 12 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the District Attorney’s Office for the First Circuit Court District said in a press release.

Circuit Court Judge Kelly L. Mims handed down the sentence, the release said. Mims suspended an additional 28 years on the charge and ordered McGee to serve five years of post-release supervision following his incarceration.

The district attorney’s office said McGee must serve the full 12-year term day for day, with no possibility of parole or early release, because of the trafficking conviction.

The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan French on behalf of the state, the release said. The District Attorney’s Office commended NMNU agents for their work, according to the release, which was issued by District Attorney Jason D. Herring.
