TUPELO, Miss. — Jeremy McGee pleaded guilty Aug. 3, 2026, to trafficking fentanyl and was sentenced to 12 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the First Circuit District Attorney’s office said.
Circuit Court Judge Kelly L. Mims suspended an additional 28 years on the charge and ordered McGee to serve five years of post-release supervision after his incarceration, the release said. Because he was convicted of trafficking, the office said, McGee must serve the 12-year sentence day-for-day without parole or early release.
The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan French on behalf of the state, the release said.
District Attorney Jason D. Herring commended agents of the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit for their work removing dangerous narcotics from the streets and protecting the citizens of North Mississippi, the office said.
