JACKSON, Miss. — Jeremy McGee was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl in Mississippi, according to court records.
On Aug. 3, 2026, McGee appeared before Circuit Court Judge Kelly L. Mims, who sentenced him to serve the term in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The judge suspended an additional 28 years on the charge and ordered McGee to complete five years of post-release supervision after his incarceration.
Because the conviction was for trafficking, McGee must serve the full 12-year sentence without the possibility of parole or early release, according to court documents.
The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit. The District Attorney’s Office praised NMNU agents for their efforts in removing dangerous narcotics from local streets and protecting residents of North Mississippi.
Assistant District Attorney Megan French prosecuted the case on behalf of the state. Jason D. Herring is the District Attorney for the First Circuit Court District, authorities said.
