JACKSON, Miss. — Jeremy McGee was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl, a controlled substance, in Mississippi, according to court records.
Judge Kelly L. Mims of the Circuit Court ordered McGee to serve the full 12-year sentence without the possibility of parole or early release. The judge suspended an additional 28 years on the charge and mandated five years of post-release supervision following incarceration.
The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, which law enforcement officials credited for removing dangerous narcotics from local streets. The prosecution was handled by Assistant District Attorney Megan French, representing the state.
Jason D. Herring, district attorney of the First Circuit Court District, expressed appreciation for the efforts of narcotics agents in combating drug trafficking.
