I-20/I-55 ‘Big Fix’ project to repair 36 bridges, start this fall

The I-20/I-55 Freight Corridors Improvement Project, billed as “The Big Fix,” will rehabilitate 36 bridges and is set to begin this fall, the project website says.

The website says the work also will resurface and repair 32 miles of roadways and deploy Intelligent Transportation Systems, or ITS, in the project area.

The project announcement thanked WLBT 3 On Your Side and other media partners for helping spread information about the effort, according to the project’s webpage.
