Mississippi Transportation Commission Chairman Willie Simmons and Mississippi Department of Transportation Executive Director Brad White outlined the benefits and scope of the I-20/I-55 Freight Corridors Improvement Project, known as “The Big Fix,” at a press conference last week, MDOT said.
They discussed why the work is needed and the expected improvements to freight movement along the corridors, MDOT said.
Officials also described the work items that will take place over the life of the project, including project sequencing and construction activities, MDOT said.
MDOT directed the public to GoMDOT.com/TheBigFix for updates and additional information, the agency said.
