I-59 Reopens After Early-Morning Crash; Flooding Persists on U.S. 90, MDOT Says

All southbound lanes of Interstate 59 reopened at 10:45 a.m. June 15 after an early-morning crash that had forced a full closure, the Mississippi Department of Transportation said.

MDOT said the crash initially blocked all southbound lanes of I-59 past Miss. 18 near Pachuta and Rose Hill at exit 126 in Clarke County. Law enforcement directed traffic onto a detour via Miss. 18 east to Miss. 11 south, and MDOT warned of major delays in the 9:45 a.m. update.

MDOT also reported that U.S. 90 at Porter Avenue in Harrison County still had flooding and standing water in both directions as of the 10:45 a.m. update. The agency said flooding on U.S. 90 between Lee Street and Oak Street in Harrison County had cleared.

Drivers were urged to use caution, MDOT said.
