NWS Memphis: Morning clouds may blunt heat as evening storms approach I-40 corridor

Morning rain and clouds could keep “feels-like” temperatures from reaching heat headline criteria, the National Weather Service in Memphis said in a social media post.

The agency said the cloud cover and precipitation early in the day may limit how hot it feels for residents across the region.

For the evening and overnight hours, the service said storms are expected to approach areas along and north of I-40. Damaging winds were identified as the primary threat, with hail a secondary threat, the post said.

The information was posted by the National Weather Service in Memphis on its social media channels.
