The Wilkinson County Disaster Service Center will close permanently at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, county officials said.
The deadline for residents affected by the May 6–7 severe storms (DR-4922) to apply for federal assistance is also Monday, Aug. 31, the county said.
Residents do not have to visit the service center to apply, FEMA said. Applications are available online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
County officials reminded residents to submit applications by the Aug. 31 deadline, the statement said.
