MDOT to flash new traffic signal on U.S. 49 at D’Lo Truck Stop starting July 23
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said it will place a new traffic signal on U.S. 49 at the D’Lo Truck Stop into flashing mode starting July 23. The signal may remain in flashing mode for up to a week before full operation begins, MDOT said.
MDOT said the light will flash yellow initially and reminded drivers of standard traffic-signal protocols: a flashing red light should be treated as a stop sign; a flashing yellow light means proceed with caution; and if the signal is dark, drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
The department urged motorists in Simpson County to use caution while the signal is in flash mode and to be alert for cross traffic that may not be required to stop, MDOT said.
