MDOT: Traffic pattern change at SR 15/16 roundabout in Philadelphia begins May 7

A traffic pattern change at the State 15/16 roundabout in Philadelphia, Mississippi, will begin Thursday, May 7, and continue through Nov. 1, 2026, the Mississippi Department of Transportation said.

MDOT said the previously closed portion of State Route 16 at W. Beacon Street will open. The agency said State Route 15 will temporarily close between State Route 885 and Lakeside Drive, and the connection from Lakeside Drive to SR 16 will open.

Detour signage will be in place for the duration of the work to direct drivers around the closures, MDOT said. The agency said temporary traffic signals will be installed at both ends of SR 885.
