Mississippi DOT, Garver win ACEC/MS Grand Conceptor for I-10 Diamondhead project

The Mississippi Department of Transportation and engineering consultant Garver received the Grand Conceptor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Mississippi for the I-10 Diamondhead Interchange Improvement Project in Hancock County, MDOT said Tuesday, May 19.

ACEC of Mississippi described the Grand Conceptor as the top honor in its annual Engineering Excellence Awards, which recognize engineering achievements that demonstrate the highest level of quality and ingenuity in the state, ACEC/MS said.

“The award presented today greatly exceeded our judges’ criteria of originality and innovation, technical value, social and economic consideration, complexity and exceeding expectations,” Executive Director Craig Carter said, ACEC/MS said.

MDOT posted details of the award announcement, saying the recognition highlights the project team’s work on the I-10 interchange improvement in Hancock County, the agency said.
