Mississippi DOT warns of possible road impacts as Tropical Storm Bertha approaches
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said Tropical Storm Bertha is approaching the Mississippi Gulf Coast and could cause blocked roadways, flash flooding and power outages starting Wednesday and lasting into Thursday.
MDOT said the storm is expected to bring potentially high winds, storm surge and rainfall to the southern portion of the state, which may result in flash flooding and debris on roadways.
MDOT said crews will monitor the storm and stand ready to respond to potential impacts on roads and bridges. The agency urged motorists to check the MDOT Traffic app for updates on road conditions.
