National Weather Service in Memphis Warns of Heat Indexes of 105 to 109 Degrees Fahrenheit
The National Weather Service in Memphis said in a social media post that heat indexes could reach 105 to 109 degrees Fahrenheit today.
The agency urged people to stay hydrated and to avoid being in the sun from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the post.
The NWS also advised taking regular breaks in air-conditioned spaces for relief from the heat, the post said.
The office encouraged users to remind friends who work outdoors to stay cool and closed the message by urging people to stay safe, according to the social media post.
