Visit Mississippi urges drivers to buckle up during Elvis Week

Visit Mississippi used Elvis Week to urge motorists to buckle seat belts, the state tourism agency said in a social media post.

The post tied the message to Tupelo, Elvis Presley’s birthplace, saying, “We’re all shook up about celebrating My Tupelo’s native royalty,” Visit Mississippi said.

It added a direct safety appeal: “Before you put the car in drive, buckle your seat belt. It only takes a few seconds, and it could save your life,” the post said.

The post also included the line “Thank ya, thank ya very much!” and several hashtags, Visit Mississippi said, and encouraged visitors to enjoy Elvis Week while following highway safety precautions.
